System Administrator

To perform properly as an IT Specialist within a branch office of POS Media it is required to have good knowledge of the responsibilities and authorizations that are connected to this position. 

Skills:

• technical secondary school / university
• good PC hardware and software problem detection and repair
• knowledge of Windows 10 on administration level
• Windows Server 2012/2016 network infrastructure set-up and management
• LAN, WAN, VPN administration
• experienced user of Microsoft Office 2016/365
• intermediate English 

Respondibilities:

• Install and maintain the company IT hardware, supervise the network, ensure regular updates of software on workstations
• Oversees all IT-related purchasing and budget usage; works with accounting to develop budget.
• Manage the users and computers accounts on national level. 
• Comply with company standards in respect to software used and configuration of hardware.
• Manage local helpdesk system and support users with problem resolution on timely basis.
• Cooperates with IT Director / CIO and/or external support company on timely problem resolution. Approves monthly billing of licenses and support.
• Make sure only approved software is installed on company’s computers. Advice management of using only properly licensed software.
• Enforces POS Media computer usage rules on national level, checks periodically if all employees are following it. Advises management in case of rules breached.
• Analyze once or twice per year the need for hardware and software upgrades, thereby determining the effect of any investment versus the related benefits and advising management objectively on economical and technical aspects
• Keep a database of suppliers of hardware / software and telecommunication services (phones, internet). Select these suppliers with respect to economical pricing, fastest delivery, guarantee period, track record, etc.   Conduct once or twice per year a price evaluation to ensure that the preferred supplier is still the most competitive.
• Ensure that in case of absence due to holiday or sickness one assistant within POS Media or an external consultant can temporarily take over the IT activities for the time of the absence.
