Technical Superintendent

Nordic-Hamburg Ship Management is a full suite ship management company with a global footprint, having offices in Hamburg, Hong Kong, and Odessa. Due to an ongoing fleet expansion and in order to strengthen our Technical team in Odessa we are looking to hire a highly motivated Technical Superintendent with at least 3 years of experience to join our team.

The Technical Superintendent has to ensure, through close cooperation with other Department Team members and senior officers on board, that the vessels are operated safely, efficiently, economically and in accordance with Company procedures and instructions.

• Ensuring that assigned vessels (deck and engine) are maintained and operated safely, efficiently, and economically as per Company procedures and instructions.
• Monitoring that the IMS is implemented onboard and followed onboard, in particular with respect to occupational health, safety, and pollution prevention.
• Maintain close contact with the senior officers on board with regards to inspections, supervision, support, and ensuring vessels are following regulations.
• Ensure that the maintenance record keeping is carried out correctly, maintenance intervals are optimized, the maintenance planning, execution, and control are carried out and updated in accordance with good industry practice and Company standards.
• Unscheduled repairs: monitor unscheduled repairs and trends, and share the gained experience with the Fleet Manager, other Superintendents, and the fleet.
• Monitoring, planning, and maintaining all ships certificates and surveys, including Class, Flag State, and others.
• Stores, supplies, and spare parts: ensure regular supplies as necessary.
• Carry out inspections and audits and issue reports as per the Company procedures, requirements and instructions and clients/owners requirements.
• Routine, damage and major repairs: planning, preparation, supervision, documenting and following-up.
• Dry-docking: drafting specifications, planning, tendering, execution, documenting, reporting and following up.
• Budget: preparation, monitoring, control, operating, reporting and ensuring vessel compliance with technical budgets.
• Personnel Appraisals: monitoring and reporting ships’ personnel performance and training needs to the Crew Operation Manager.
• Following new developments within the technical fields.
• Reporting (non-conformity, accidents, incident, near misses, events, observations improvements etc.), contribute to the continuous development of the Company.

Other special tasks and projects as per the Fleet Manager’s instructions.
