About the role

The Category Manager position is for a candidate with analytical ability, project management skills, a passion for retail, a high level of flexibility and a proven track record. He will play a critical role in managing the category to improve the profitability and key performance of the assigned group.

Duties will include

  • Act as the “business owner” of the assigned category.
  • Have an understanding of the industry, seasonality and business trends, as well as keep an eye on competitor activity.
  • Create a customer-oriented product matrix and monitor its effectiveness.
  • Manage category pricing and margins.
  • Develop new sources of procurement and negotiate effectively with suppliers to establish shared goals.
  • Influence the design of your category, as well as contribute to new product groups and improve the customer experience.
  • Conduct financial analysis of business opportunities to meet and exceed revenue and profitability targets.
  • Interact with colleagues from other departments, stores and e-commerce to achieve business goals. 

Candidate Expectations

Primary requirements:

  • higher education,
  • Procurement management experience in retail, operations, consulting and/or business management,
  • excellent written and oral communication skills in English

 Will be a plus:

  • experience in negotiations with suppliers,
  • pricing and promotion skills,
  • experience in inventory management for online and stationary sales, product development and P&L responsibility,
  • Excel skills at a high level
  • Experience in managing complex projects.
