IT System Administrator/ Help Desk Engineer

Examples of responsibilities:
- Setting up new workstations and configuring PCs (Windows & macOS)
- Install and configure necessary software and functions according to specifications
- Installation and maintenance of MS Office suite
- Setting up and maintaining office network equipment: switches, wifi devices, printer/ scanner, telephones etc
- Setting up and maintaining servers (VMWare ESXi cluster);
- Maintenance of backup and monitoring systems (Veeam Backup);
- Helpdesk and end-user support:
- >>respond to the incident (issues/ questions) and offer an immediate fix or develop a resolution plan;
- >>conduct basic troubleshooting AND solve common problems such as username and passwords issues, menu navigation, verification of hardware and software, installation issues, and setup;
- >>using MSP software create and manage ticket records for each incident;
- >>follow escalation protocol and log and escalate an issue to a more senior engineer or 3rd party product support.
Requirements:
- Degree in IT System Administration or similar
- 1+ years of commercial experience as System Administrator/ Engineer;
- Strong knowledge of Windows suite (including Office 365), Linux and macOS (maintenance and configure);
- Understanding of standard operating and technical diagnostics procedures;
- Knowledge of network technologies including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLAN, RDS etc)
- Administration skills of Active Directory Domain Services, BitLocker;
- Knowledge of VMWare, FreeNas, Veeam;
- English: intermediate + (both spoken and written)
- Knowledge of ConnectWise Manage or similar MSP software would be an advantage
- The capacity and interest to learn new and emerging technologies
Nice-to-have knowledge of:
- Microsoft Azure and other Cloud products
- Information security systems and protocols
- Hardware market offering (both small and large network devices, PCs/ laptops)
- Software market offering (ie accountancy software suite,
