Junior Financial Specialist (Kyiv, full time)

Area of responsibilities

• Support Financial Specialist and Technical staff with the financial management of Local Subsidies and other financing agreements: pre-check of financial statements of Local Subsidies, support to expenditures’ planning, funds requests ensuring that financial administration of projects fully meet GIZ standard, procedure and requirement and is compliant with GIZ rules and regulations.
• Formal and mathematical checking of invoices and other payment requests.
• Managing knowledge by disseminating and documenting know-how, experience and information in financial and administrative matters, with the focus on finance and accounting and in close cooperation with procurement professionals.
• Support filing of documents in reference files or in DMS in line with GIZ’s filing rules.
• Support the coordination with Technical staff in all matters related to financial management, procurement and other activities.
• Support the preparation of financial reports and accompaniment of the internal audits conducted by the GIZ Country Office (Internal Control) and assist in the preparation of external audit.
• Ensure smooth communication with the Program staff and the GIZ Ukraine Country Office.
• Perform other duties and tasks at the request of management

Requirements

• University degree in business administration (equivalent BA or MBA) with a focus on accounting or related area.
• At least 1 years’ professional experience in a comparable position.
• Good knowledge of Ukrainian legislation and accounting requirements.
• Keen on details within pre-checking of financial statements.
• Business fluent command of Ukrainian, Russian and English language (verbally and written). Knowledge of German would be an advantage.
• Good working knowledge of ITC technologies and computer applications, particularly EXCEL and other MS Office applications.
• Experienced to work in an international team.
• Good self-organization skills.
• Customer and service-oriented attitude.
• Willingness to upskill as required by the tasks to be performed.
• Ability to work under pressure.

Employment conditions

Full-time position with 40-hours working week. Place of assignment is Kyiv. The contract duration is till May 2024.
