UI/UX Designer (Broadcast Platform)

CUSTOMER

The aim of this project is to deliver the solution for live broadcasting of motorsports events. It includes remote live streaming units, streaming services, telemetry sensors, telemetry analysis services, and intermediate databases with corresponding access services, intermediate RTMP server, and a professional mixing/broadcasting studio. This will effectively close the chain, being either direct or indirect consumer for all the before mentioned components.

The startup has been growing for about a year and it will continue to do so as the project is in the active development phase and there are a lot of plans for the future.

PROJECT

An Israeli motorsport company has created the first smart connected race car that allows making an emphasis on the drivers, not on the cars. Our team provides graphics and technical support for the race broadcast (both on TV and as a web streaming).

In order to engage users into each motorsport event even more, it was decided to introduce a brand new solution. For the first time, viewers will have access to live, real-time video streams from all racecars and will be able to choose the driver they wish to follow. Real-time analyzed data with insights and analytics, polls and fans-generated content will bring viewers closer to the racetrack than ever before.

Aside from the broadcast graphics, we are also working on multiple game changing sub-products:

• Data dashboards with automatic analysis and comparisons for accelerated improvements
• Driver’s personal debrief app
• Mobile app for motorsport fans
• and many more!

REQUIREMENTS

• You’ve been creating both web and mobile interfaces for at least 4-5 years, including analysis work, prototyping, hypothesis testing, user testing, and UX review activities
• Past experience working with Broadcast Graphics and/or Motorsport domain area
• We do not require you to be a Formula 1 fan, but the knowledge of “how the motorsport works” is highly welcomed
• Upper-Intermediate written and spoken English
• Ability to hold demos to the customer

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Interface design for various platforms, including TV broadcast, web & mobile applications
• Working with Data Visualization patterns and researching for custom, unique ways to represent racing telemetry data
• Interaction Design & UI Animation
• Domain area research, familiarization with documentation and existing solutions (Formula 1 as a common example)
• Wide technical research and collaboration with developers (XAML Programming Language used for all front-end works)
• Participation in ideation and scoping for the product and features
• Developing and maintaining design specifications to support product definition and development, UI kit preparation
• Art Direction
