General Manager for Tanker Company - Руководитель

Global Leader, International Bunkering and Tanker operating company is seeking a General Manager for their Odessa office

This is an ideal role for a senior executive in the Shipping Industry looking to advance in their career and build on their already existing knowledge of the shipping industry to grow alongside the company

The ideal candidate would have experience in ship management, operations management or another degree related to Shipmanagement activity. Ship captains are also considered as potential candidates

The candidate should be experienced, ideally currently in a senior position at an international shipmanagement or ship operating company based in Odessa, looking to grow further into a top managerial position.

The Manager will report directly to the General Manager of the whole Group. He will liaise with company offices in Cyprus, UK and Switzerland.

Depending on the growing scope of work, he may be required to travel to other company offices or other countries

The role involves:

• Strict supervision and control of the various processes within the Odessa office
• Management of operations department — control of supply chain from cargo loading to bunker delivery and postfixing monitoring
• Management of technical department — control and receive reports from superintendents and spare parts supply managers
• Management of DPA, making sure all relevant vessel and office documentation and safety protocols are updated and adhered to
• Chartering and freight rate negotiations
• Claims management
• Supervising repairs in shipyards and other repairs
• Seeking and interviewing new crew candidates for the company’s vessels

Office manager needs to maintain tight control of activity and responsibilities of all the Odessa office staff.

It is important to note that this is not a ‘high level' managerial position. The candidate will be expected to be involved in detail in every operational process of the Odessa office. This includes being available on the phone 24/7 and actively managing any difficulties arising in bunker deliveries, cargo loadings, managing crew members and vessel masters

The role will also include liaising with shipyard for repair works of the vessels, visiting and evaluating potential vessels for company activity, evaluation and hire of staff.

The company has been in the market for more than 10 years and is experiencing a lot of growth and international expansion. The company provides bunker delivery services in all ports of Ukraine with own fleet as well as bunkering services around the world.
