This is an existing, non-people leader role to support the Operations transformation agenda in growing trust with clients and regulators and maximizing risk reduction, resilience, policy and regulatory compliance. The primary purpose of the role is to safeguard delivery and help the Accountable Executive (AE) and Portfolio Director to establish early on the conditions for success in order to optimise benefits realisation. This role will support the establishment and execution of portfolio objectives, strategy and prioritisation frameworks and regularly assess suitability on an ongoing basis. Providing high quality assurance, advice or support they will advocate and impart lessons and good practice to shape the design and implementation of major change initiatives and to help the business optimise outcomes from that activity. Key responsibilities include:

  • Independently assess capabilities of AEs, Programme Directors and delivery partners across the project lifecycles including in the areas of data, testing, build and deployment.
  • Shape the design and delivery of major ICS solutions through timely, expert assurance and advice on the design, particularly in the key set-up and implementation phases in order to achieve agreed business outcomes.
  • Act as an advocate of good practice and ‘critical friend’ to support sponsors and project leaders in developing ICS solutions, anticipating and mitigating key risks and issues, and ensuring effective decision-making and issue resolution.
  • Ensure technical assurance and approval is fully integrated and planned; commission or deliver impartial review on the ICS technical solutions to provide stakeholders with confidence in their deliverables.
  • Assess the effectiveness of the ICS solutions by executing consistent, sustainable and re-performable testing framework/methodology.
  • Drive the continuous improvement of the risk and control methodology, aligning to and avoiding duplication with key controls, control tests performed across other functions and automation.
  • Adopt an anticipatory approach to risk assessment through stakeholder engagement and monitoring of the external environment.
  • Work with other control assurance teams to drive efficiency, effectiveness and reduce duplication.
  • Manage and drive continuous improvement of the project management control environment through proactive risk management.

The Role Requirements

  • 8-10 years experience in IT/Cyber Audit and/or Cyber Risk Management as well as Cyber Project Management and/or Security Architecture experience, within international financial services organisations.
  • Technical knowledge on security controls best practices across different platforms, systems and security tools.
  • Good understanding of security processes, risks and controls, audit and testing methodologies.
  • Knowledge of classical and agile working standards.
  • Possess security certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CISM, CRISC, CEH, PCI-QSA, CSX etc. is preferred.
  • Experience within defensive IT Security services is an added advantage, e.g.:
    • Identity and Access Management solutions,
    • Vulnerability Scanning (VS) solutions,
    • Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solutions,
    • Data security and protection solutions,
    • Cloud environment security solutions,
    • Technical State Compliance Monitoring (TSCM) solutions.
