Systems Administrator

Job Description and Responsibilities:

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer / System administrator who is proficient in a variety of machine operating systems to include Windows, Linux, and other networking device languages who will support and manage servers, network equipment, and systems.

Requirements:

• Proven experience and track record troubleshooting complex Linux and Windows problems in an enterprise environment.

• Experience with Linux operating systems including RedHat and CentOS distributions

• Networking understanding: TCP \ IP, DNS, Routing, network security

• Experience in one or more programming languages relevant to scripting, automation, and general tooling: Python, Bash, PowerShell, PHP, Go.

• Experience with My SQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and MS SQL database administration.

• Understanding and knowledge of virtualization (Xen, VMware, KVM).

• Experience with configuration management software - ansible preferable.

• Experience with continuous integration and delivery systems (Gitlab-CI)

• Experience scripting and or automating tasks with REST APIs.

• Network and server performance monitoring and analysis

Duties:

• Anticipate, mitigate, identify, troubleshoot, and solve hardware and software problems on systems.

• Configure and maintain virtual environments including VMs and containerization.

• Implements policies, procedures, and technologies to ensure system security through secure system access, monitoring, control, and routine security evaluations.

• Build automation and tooling to assist with compliance and auto-remediate issues without end-user involvement.

• development of automated monitoring mechanisms for key system elements;

• Administration and support for monitoring, configuration, and logging services (Nagios, InfluxDB, Grafana, Graylog, Prometheus)

• Building, maintaining, and improving CI / CD infrastructure

• Research and planning infrastructure development

• Optimize and maintain network layer devices, including access layer, distribution layer, and Cisco core layer devices.

• Develop the data migration strategy to transform and migrate data from the legacy applications.

• Support other internal departments.
