We are looking for responsible and mid-skilled engineers that would join the team of operational specialists that provide help desk support to other departments and would not directly work with the end customers.
Basic requirements:
Hands-on experience with System Administration (Server side Linux) at least 1 year
Good understanding networking principles and protocols
Experience with different monitoring tools and services
Understanding of incident response and management processes
Would be a plus:
Experience with bare metal servers installation from scratch
Experience in SQL-based database management and administration
Understanding of mail protocols (SMTP, POP3, IMAP)
Experience with DNS server management or installation
Scripting experience (bash, python, etc)
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization
Handling and escalation of incidents, participation in on-call rotation
Participation in software release management cycle
Support the documentation for the systems and network layers
This potentially will be a 24/7 coverage evenly split between the duty engineers - however during the 24/7 shift formation it would be a 8+1 hour shift normally from 10-19 and 14-23 hours (Kiev time) with off-hours on-call rotation (upon trial period completion).
Successful candidates would also be a part of the incident management team providing initial incident detection, data collection, runbook based resolution (runbooks are basically scripts of common what-to-do’s) and escalation in case if problems rely above their level of expertise.
