System Administrator (Monitoring Engineer/Technical Consultant)

Itera is looking for a Technical Consultant with a wide experience within IT operations and monitoring to join the distributed project for Icelandic bank. Strong technical background, problem analysis skills as well as good communications skills are essential. The qualified candidate will be in close cooperation with operations teams located in Iceland and Ukraine to maintain and improve existing infrastructure to guarantee reliability of underlying environments.

Tasks and responsibilities:

• Monitoring system administration.
• Monitoring and reacting to incidents in batch jobs system.
• Microsoft Windows Server (2016 and 2019) 2nd-3rd line support.
• Analysis of failures, identifying and isolating the source of problems.
• Automation of routine tasks and operational processes.

Professional requirements:

• At least 3 years’ experience on the similar position (technical specialist/operation engineer).
• Check-MK or Nagios administration and custom check creation. Check_MK is Nagios fork with distributed monitoring and web configuration capability. Nagios admin skills applicable with additional knowledge transfer.
• Microsoft Windows Server administration (2016 and 2019).
• Good knowledge of Check-Mk or Nagios administration.
• Strong Scripting skills (e.g. either of Python, Perl, Bash, Power-Shell).
• Basic Linux administration.
• Understanding of basic network services and protocols.

• Application performance monitoring

• SharePoint administration
• ITSM solutions, e.g. Servicenow, HP OpenView Service Desk, HP Service Manager etc.
• ITIL, ISO 19770 and 20000
