Programme Manager, Eurasia

The Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue (HD) is a private diplomacy organisation founded on the principles of humanity, impartiality and independence. Its mission is to help prevent, mitigate and resolve armed conflict through dialogue and mediation. HD is currently looking for a:

Programme Manager, Eurasia

Location: Flexible in Eurasia region

Starting date: as soon as possible

HD works with all parties to the conflict to de-escalate tensions, reduce the risks of conflict and establish a conducive environment for peace negotiations. The Programme Manager will contribute to the Eurasia projects by providing assistance to the Regional Director, managing the projects and strengthening the role of HD in the region.

The Programme Manager will have the following responsibilities:

• Overall management of select East European regional projects in close collaboration with Senior Advisors, Regional Advisor, Project Officer and the Regional Director of the programme;
• Liaise with key stakeholders including the appropriate governments, civil society, donor agencies and international actors;
• Facilitate delicate, diplomatic engagement among key parties to select conflicts in the region. 
• Carry out critical analysis and research;
• Fundraise and propose development for new programmes and consolidation of HD’s existing funding initiatives for select East European regional projects as required;
• With the regional team, lead development of new opportunities, both consolidating HD’s existing areas of work and expanding to new areas;
• Manage a small but highly engaged project team and oversee the day-to-day project management of the activities, including oversight of budgets, donor proposals, reports etc.
• Travel throughout the region as required. 

Qualifications: 

The successful candidate should meet the following criteria:

• Minimum of 8 years expertise and demonstrated experience in management of project activities;
• Knowledge of and commitment to conflict resolution, as well as political and cultural knowledge of Eastern Europe;
• Excellent ability in drafting reports, developing proposals and fundraising;
• Hold a Master’s degree in international relations, humanitarian affairs or mediation;  
• Excellent command of written and spoken English and Russian; 
• Excellent communication skills. 

Personality: The successful candidate should be capable of multi-tasking and meet tight deadlines. S/he must be a flexible team player, proactive and have strong social, communication and organisational skills.
