Role

Assurance Competency Centre is a vital element of PwC’s distributed delivery model that contributes to standardisation and automation of the audit process. The Competency Center is currently in its initial phase of development and at this stage is focused on Financial Statement Line Items (FSLIs) requiring less audit judgement. Such FSLIs are audited by the Competency Center team in a standard way, which allows for the exactly right level of effort applied to the audit (i.e. no overaudit and no gaps). Standard work plans then allow us to introduce automations to further increase the audit efficiency and provide a completely new audit experience for our teams and our clients.

As part of the Assurance Competency Centre you will work directly with a broad and diverse range of clients, unconstrained by the traditional firm structure.  You will utilise the latest technology to supervise the delivery of key audit areas, based in our Lviv office. In doing so you will improve the quality, efficiency, and innovation in these areas.  

Requirements:

• audit busy seasons experience at Big 4;

• Strong intermediate written and verbal English;

• Eagerness to make a difference and challenge the status quo;

• Experience of handling multiple assignments and coaching junior team members;

• An ability to generate new ideas and lead by example.

As a Senior Associate within the Assurance Competency Centre you will:

• Review their work, in line with accounting and auditing requirements and operating procedures.  

• Build and maintain strong working relationships with both clients and front-line delivery teams. 

• Drive continuing innovation in how we deliver the audit, including ideas for greater automation. 

• Step up beyond a country level and become part of the global PwC initiative by cooperating and sharing experience with 14 other Competency Centers in the CEE.

As part of an Assurance Competency Centre you will make a difference by:

• Becoming a game changer through challenging the way the audit has been performed for decades and shifting the paradigm towards a more standardised approach to ensure exactly the right volume of efforts is applied.

• Once standardised, the procedures become more suitable for automation and you will be able to delegate the routine work to Alteryx, VBA, UI Path or other solutions developed by the team. You will also have a chance to suggest or design such solutions yourself being at the forefront of automation at PwC.

• Becoming a part of a fresh initiative, which is at its earliest stages. Looking back on which after spending a few years with us you will be able to say that you’ve played a major role in making the Ukrainian Competency Center into a huge success and have gained a vast portfolio of skills along the way.

• Shifting your own mindset and mindset of those around you to place a constant focus on automation which is one of the major pillars of our distributed delivery model. 

This role offers the potential for flexible working. Minimal travel will be required with the vast majority of client interactions being virtual in nature. Relocation assistance will be available, and considered on a case by case basis.
