Data Platform Engineer (shadow) (IRC110474)

GlobalLogic Ukraine is inviting a Data Platform Engineer (shadow) to join its Kyiv office.

Client – the worldwide manufacturer of smart beds, which increase the overall quality of sleep. The solution senses and automatically adjusts the comfort level:

• Tracking personal sleep data during the night
• Individual comfort and temperature balancing
• Comfort adjustability on each side of the bed

The project is related to developing cutting-edge sensor technology and data processing algorithms. 

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years in working with Enterprise Data Warehouse technologies
• Multi-Dimensional Data Modeling, Data Architectures or other work related to the construction of enterprise data assets
• Strong Experience implementing ETL processes and building data pipelines
• Experience with Big Data frameworks such as Hadoop
• Good experience with Apache Spark framework  
• Experience tuning Hadoop/Spark parameters to improve performance
• Experience with Big Data querying tools
• Data modeling and schema design
• Experience of Nifi, ElasticSearch/SOLR, and HBase is a plus
• Proven understanding and demonstrable implementation experience of cloud data platform technologies (Azure or AWS)
• Strong SQL programming background with the ability to troubleshoot and tune the code
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
• Strong problem solving, troubleshooting, and analysis skills
• Experience working in a geographically distributed team
• Knowledge of Java language is a big plus
• Good knowledge of Agile Scrum
• Good communication skills

Responsibilities:

• Architect, develop and manage large scale data systems and ingestion capabilities and infrastructure
• Support Design and development of solutions for the deployment of dashboards and reports to various stakeholders
• Work directly with the business teams to rapidly prototype analytics solutions based upon business requirements
• Architect data pipelines and ETL processes to connect with various data sources
• Design and maintain enterprise data warehouse models
• Tune and improve the performance of reporting solutions
• Deploy updates and fixes and assist technical support
