Junior Technical Professional, FEER

Deutsche Gesellschaft fuer Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in Kyiv is seeking for the project “Promotion of Energy Efficiency and Implementation of the EU Energy Efficiency Directive (FEER)” a qualified professional to fill the position of the:

Junior Technical Professional, FEER

The Junior Technical Professional performs the following tasks:

• the component manager for professional qualification (output 3) and other experts for whom the junior technical professional performs technical tasks
• the component manager in carrying out project activities
• coordination with partner vocational schools within the project framework
• coordination with a local NGO regarding promotion campaign of vocational education and training and energy efficiency related professions
• carrying out specific research tasks which are required for planning the implementation of projects or programmes 
• preparing presentation materials for events and guideline materials for partners
• carrying out specific tasks in connection with knowledge management for the project
• assists with planning, coordinating and documenting meetings, workshops, seminars and other project activities with a focus on technical aspects
• assists the preparation and the implementation of assignment by short-term experts in completing their tasks (i.e. drafting of ToR, preparing other necessary documents, logistical and organisational support, etc.)
• assists with recording and documenting the results of all activities in the component / project
• supports project monitoring and updates information on project progress, documents and reports regularly on the status of results
• draws up media analyses, participates in fora and public hearings on issues directly connected with the project
• assists in drawing up reports and translations
• supports the establishment of a project database 
• prepares presentation materials with infographics based on the results of the project, develops the concepts for educating videos and layouts
• develops and implements instruments of knowledge-exchange and awareness raising among stakeholders
• supports the development of training materials
• moderates workshops and seminars together with external experts and consultants
• contributes to achieve the overall project goals by independently coordinating the proper preparation of conferences, workshops and other events and supervises implementation

Required qualifications, competences and experience

Qualifications

• BA/MSc in a field related to the project’s objectives, international relations or communication
• Good knowledge of national and international business communication and networking
• Practice and understanding of event management

Professional experience

• work experience in similar position 
• experience in interviewing, collecting data, conducting surveys, conducting applied research
• experience in event management, organization of conferences and workshops

Other knowledge, additional competences

• very good knowledge of English, knowledge of German is an asset
• outstanding working knowledge of ITC technologies (related software, phone, fax, email, the internet) and computer applications (e.g. MS Office, MS Teams, InDesign, Illustrator)
• willingness to upskill as required by the tasks to be performed – corresponding measures are agreed with management
• strong self-organisation skills and goal orientation combined with a high level of frustration tolerance
