Senior Java Software Engineer

DESCRIPTION 

Our client is the world’s foremost provider of ratings, benchmarks, and analytics in the global capital and commodity markets. 

We are looking for a Software Engineer with Spark/Java background to join a distributed team in Ukraine. The majority of work is related to the migration of Tick History applications to AWS. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Technical migration of the existing on-prem solution based on Hadoop to the strategic platform storing and processing the same data to AWS cloud
• Implementation of a set of postponed extensions and non-functional improvements (like performance) in the strategic solution

REQUIREMENTS 

• Advanced experience in software development
• Good understanding of CI/CD principles and best practices
• Analytical approach to problem
• Being motivated, independent, efficient, and ability work under pressure with a solid sense for setting priorities
• Ability to work in a fast-paced (startup-like) agile development environment
• Experience in direct customer communications
• Solid skills in infrastructure troubleshooting, support and practical experience in performance tuning and optimization, bottleneck problem analysis
• Excellent interpersonal, mentoring and communication skills
• Intermediate or higher English level, both spoken and written (B1+)

• Programming Languages: Java
• Databases: Cassandra, Prometheus, Redis
• Data Visualization: Grafana, Kibana
• ELK experience
• Experience in various messaging systems, such as Kafka or RabbitMQ
• Rest, gRPC
• Docker, Kubernetes
• Solid Cloud experience with more than 1 leading Cloud providers (AWS/Azure/GCP)
• Version Control Systems (Git)
• Testing: Component/ Integration Testing, Unit testing (JUnit)
