Accountant

We are looking for an Accountant to join our team in Kharkiv!

This role will report to the Chief Accountant and will work with all Ukrainian office staff.  The Accountant’s primary responsibility is to contribute to GeoComply’s success by accurate accounting, timely reporting, and 100% compliance with local tax legislation. This role’s overall focus is to handle daily payments and support staff with accounting or tax issues. This role is an important member of the multi-country team whose mandate is to ensure consistent, accurate, and robust financial accounting processes are in line with accounting practices and corporate policies.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities include (but not limited to):

• Recording journal entries
• Manage all accounting transactions
• Publish financial statements in time
• Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings
• Reconcile accounts payable and receivable
• Ensure timely bank payments
• Compute taxes, prepare and timely submit tax returns
• Manage balance sheets, profit/loss statements, other statistical reports
• Audit financial transactions and documents
• Comply with financial policies and regulations
• Proactively work with staff across the company

Skills and qualifications:

• Qualified accountant/Finance graduate
• English at intermediate/B1 level
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role preferably in IT area / Proven accounting experience;
• University degree or equivalent
• Experience in working with a diverse team is a plus
• Experience working with SAP, 1C, Medoc
• Experience working with QBO (QuickBooks Online) is a plus
• Knowledge of VAT Accounting and electronic VAT administration system is a plus
• Strong knowledge of Accounting and Tax accounting reporting
• Knowledge of local tax legislation and legal requirements to bookkeeping
• Experience with Excel
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and capacity to take on multiple tasks at one time
• Flexible, adaptable, and easy-going
