Field Communication Assistant

Assignment

As part of the Project Development Department (PDD), the field communication assistant is responsible for drafting/developing/contributing to communications and visibility products about ACTED and IMPACT Initiatives' work in Ukraine.

Candidates able to work full and part-time (20-30 hours/week) may apply. Candidates able to work part-time only should indicate the maximum hours/week they can commit to in their CV.

REMUNERATION 13 425 - 15 515 UAH before taxation.

Functions

• Create content for and post on the mission's Facebook page, in line with the mission's and global ACTED communications guidelines and strategies
• If relevant - support the development of and create content for additional social media accounts in country
• Document mission activities in line with donor requirements (photos, videos, written articles, etc.) - notably by working closely with program teams and participating in field visits
• Ensure compliance with ACTED and donor communication and visibility policies/guidelines, including through supporting field teams with design of visibility items
• Propose and develop communication and visibility materials
• Support engagement with local media
• Draft weekly 'news' review of key political and security events
• Interpret and translate from and to local languages to support mission activities as required
• Perform ad hoc research to support project development and other mission activities as required
• Organize/support the organization of ACTED/IMPACT events
• Track/file internal communication tools and documentation

Requirements

Mandatory

• Ability to learn quickly and independently
• Written and oral fluency in English, Ukrainian and Russian
• Past experience with or strong personal interest in humanitarian or human rights issues
• Past experience with managing or at least creating content for social media accounts (other than for purely personal use - provide links/visual examples with CV if available)
• Comfortable taking high quality photographs and videos (provide portfolio if available)
• Respect of humanitarian and ACTED core values

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree in Communications or related field
• Comfortable using Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop and other Adobe Creative Cloud applications
