Assistant Risk Engineer/Junior Surveyor

UNIQA Insurance Company being one of the leaders of the insurance market of Ukraine and part of UNIQA group (Austria) which is one of the largest insurance groups of Europe, invites to join its team as an Assistant Risk Engineer/Junior Surveyor in Property and Liability Underwriting Department (this position is appropriate for Graduates w/o industry experience)

 Duties:

• Site visits with the aim of the survey and assessment of the enterprises as regards the exposure to risks of fire, explosion, natural perils, collapse and the like and fire safety status

• Desktop work with the documentation and photos from the site/enterprise without actual site visit

• Preparation of the risk-report or desktop report as a result of site visit or desktop assessment, risk scoring

• Calculation of the probable maximum loss amount (PML) and description of maximum loss scenarios

• Preparation of risk improvement recommendations based on site visit or desktop assessment

• Monitoring risk improvement recommendations implementation

• Preparation of reports, presentations, marketing materials for own projects and that of senior risk-engineers

• Participation in methodology development (specific questionnaires, documents and risk assessment instruments)

• Assisting senior colleagues.

  Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master degree (could be ongoing) in engineering or сonstruction or fire prevention and safety

• Entry level, no work experience is required, but will be seen as an advantage

• High level of self-organizing and motivation, ability to take independent decisions and to sustain stress

• Systems view and approach towards tasks to be affected, aspiration for the self-development and self-realization in insurance, strong leadership skills

• Organizational abilities, eye for detail, mathematical and analysis aptitude

• English, upper- intermediate or higher level (communication and ability to read the professional documents in English)

• High computer literacy (savvy), and especially in MS Office, ability to gather new or required information independently and also by means of Internet

  Optional:

• proved successful participation in Ukrainian and/or international competitions/Olympiads and projects, positive experience of internship in engineering and/or industrial/commercial enterprises (recommendation letters or any other testimonials should be presented)

• Knowledge of fire safety rules and standards of Ukraine

• Knowledge of the state construction rules and standards.
