We are looking for our client, a global manufacturer, an International Trade Manager (Commodities), with location in Kiev, to join its Global Sales function.
Key functions:
- Conduct business reviews with key suppliers.
- Plan and implement strategy to meet individual and team commitments
- Maintain broad knowledge of worldwide market trends on assigned commodities.
- Help the Sales function create & manage sales targets in the steel & metal products category
- Assist in developing and qualifying new suppliers that will deliver supply chain productivity
- Manage contract negotiations, develop/manage suppliers and drive working capital gains to drive service, quality and price.
- Analyze market conditions with regard to best prices
- Evaluate trends and data related to global markets to facilitate export sales
- Assist the Global Sales function with feasibility studies, consultancy, training programs, and other project planning Obtain and analyze a broad range of product-specific trade and industry information
- Conduct extensive primary and secondary research (including data collection) on a wide range of products, industries, markets, and trade issues
- Resolve trade and industry data issues
- Represent the company in a variety of forums to provide information about, explain, advocate, and defend sales activities.
- Ad-hoc and standardized reporting to the Global Sales.
- Business intelligence
- Communicate effectively with the sales and operations functions in determining reporting needs and standardization
- Support all departments interacting with the reporting systems: Operations, Commercial, and Accounting
- Learn the operations, commercial and logistics of the business to be able to optimize the capabilities required to develop reports
- Function as program leader to manage national operational reporting projects.
- Act as single point of contact for all operational reporting related inquiries from the business.
- Provide documentation (where needed) for training , modifications, and solutions in regards to the reports developed
- Develop custom ad-hoc reporting from the different operational databases
Key requirements:
- University degree
- Relevant experience in commodities, sales, and market analysis
- A firm grasp of microeconomic, macroeconomic, industrial organization, international trade and finance concepts
- Demonstrated practical knowledge of quantitative methods of analysis
- Experience with either global or local industry players
- Excellent analytical skills
- Knowledge of the commodities market
- Great interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in the use of word processing (e.g., MS Word) and, spreadsheet (e.g., MS Excel) applications
- Fluent English, in addition to Ukrainian and Russian
