Location: Sloviansk with travels to PIN's areas of intervention

Starting date: ASAP

Duration: 6 months with the possibility of extension

 

People in Need (PIN) has been active in Ukraine since early August 2014 and the humanitarian programs have been rapidly expanding since then. Currently, PIN is one of the major humanitarian actors in Eastern Ukraine while providing neutral and independent humanitarian aid to conflict-affected people. So far PIN has implemented number of multi-purpose cash grants, Shelter, Protection, Livelihoods and WASH interventions and supported more than 2 millions vulnerable populations, including IDPs, returnees and host communities in both urban and rural locations. PIN's main donors in Ukraine currently include ECHO, OFDA/USAID, DFID, UNCHR, as well as GAC IHA.

 

The organization is looking for AME Administrator for developing and maintaining a new robust database.

 

Main responsibilities:

 

  • Develops and maintains PIN's beneficiary electronic database
  • Prepares reports on beneficiaries covered in the framework of project implementation
  • Prepares other quantitative (coverage) reports on request of Senior Management
  • Supports programs to design, collect and store electronic documentation (distribution lists, 3Ws etc.) as required
  • Assists in development of PIN's Beneficiary Management System as required
  • Ensures quality and correctness of data in documentation provided by implementation staff and partners
  • Tracks beneficiary duplication throughout programmes
  • Ensures that the same documentation format is used by implementation teams
  • Designs quality graphic products, such as maps, printing products (hotline posters etc.), reporting formats etc.
  • Works in preparing maps of PIN programme coverage, geographical scope of studies conducted by AME Sub-unit etc.
  • Analyzes maps data and prepares reports on coverage gaps
  • Provides trainings on GIS mapping and practical use of mapping in humanitarian sector as required
  • Provides technical support for AME Sub-unit when required

 

Qualification Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor's degree, as a minimum, in IT/Computer science
  • At least one year of relevant experience in database creation and management preferably in emergency/development context
  • Proven experience as data manager and as IT technician
  • At least upper-intermediate level in verbal and written English, Fluency in Ukrainian, and Russian languages required
  • Knowledge on statistical data analysis programs such as SPSS, STATA, EpiInfo or other systems
  • Excellent understanding of data administration and management functions (collection, analysis, distribution etc.)
  • Clear understanding of working with contemporary database and information management systems
