Primary tasks and responsibilities:


  • Provide legal advice on the interpretation of existing and impending Market industry-related legislation
  • Overall responsibility for the approval of marketing materials and ensuring that they are compliant with all applicable industry and consumer legislation and Company's International Marketing Standards
  • Provide legal support on any reports of manufacturing errors/product recall issues
  • Manage any queries received from Trading Standards in relation to Company's products, marketing materials and consumer-facing activity
  • Communicate Company's positions on industry issues & evolving regulation to internal and external stakeholders
  • Assist the wider Corporate & Legal Affairs team in preparing external-facing documents
  • Drafting and negotiating legal documents which are used by Company's sales and marketing teams in order to formalise and clarify their contractual relationships with customers and suppliers
  • Provide ad hoc advice and training on competition law issues affecting Company to ensure high standards of competition law compliance
  • Manage the provision of legal advice to the sales force and related office-based teams on breaches of Company's contracts with retailers
  • Manage ad hoc disputes with our customers and suppliers to a commercial and timely conclusion
  • Manage historic employee personal injury claims for work-related hearing loss and asbestos exposure on behalf of Group Legal
  • Provide advice on H&S legislation and guidance on Company's internal policies to ensure full compliance by Market employees
  • Support teams in managing legal issues in selected regions abroad
  • Be an active member of the Global Corporate & Legal Affairs Community



Main requirements:


  • University degree in Law (education abroad will be a plus);
  • Minimum 5 years of Legal practice;
  • Experience in Commercial, Corporate Law and Regulatory Affairs;
  • Strategic, communication and negotiation skills are essential;
  • Fluent English;
  • Advanced PC user (MS Office)
