URCS announces the competition for the position of Psychosocial Support Unit Coordinator

Based in Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) National Committee in Kyiv, PSS Unit Coordinator is in charge to develop and ensure timely and qualitative delivery of psychosocial services for the population of Ukraine by the National Society.

Qualification requirements

• University degree, preferably in the field of social science, psychology, public health, project management, humanitarian faculty 
• At least three years of professional experience in humanitarian or development organization is required
• Previous work experience in psychosocial support and development of strategy, policies and tools
• Work experience in international context is an asset
• Good time management and organisational skills
• Integrity and honesty in dealing with confidential information
• Ability to work independently and execute tasks in a reliable and competent manner
• Strong ability to communicate with people and colleagues at different levels
• Management skills and team worker 

 Tasks and responsibilities

Organizational and methodology development: 

• Develop and guarantee the implementation of the URCS’ PSS Strategy
• Develop and monitor the implementation of a National action plan on PSS services development
• Improve the regulatory and legal base on psychosocial support in the URCS
• Develop all necessary psychosocial Standards Operating Procedures and ensure its dissemination and respect
• Coordinate and contribute actively to the development of psychosocial support related guidelines and tools to ensure qualitative interventions
• Elaborate a planning, monitoring, evaluation and reporting framework for PSS
• Arrange the educational system for PSS staff and volunteers, including training plan based on HQ and branches’ needs
• In cooperation with the Volunteer development Unit, and HR department, lead the building of a caring for carers system to guarantee staff and volunteers well being

 Coordination, information and communication

• Coordinate and manage all staff and activities of the PSS Unit
• Support PSS Officers in managing PSS related projects and programmes
• Coordinate and ensure a close cross sectorial cooperation of the PSS Unit with all URCS relevant departments 
• Ensure a specific coordination mechanism with the Volunteer development Unit
• Coordinate with Red Cross partners in Country and at International level on all PSS related aspects
• Participate to International events and forum related to mental health, psychosocial support and protection
• Coordinate with relevant Ministries, Authorities and CSOs involved in delivering psychosocial support in Ukraine
• Take part in producing information and communication materials on PSS 
• Coordinate the relevant seminars for sharing experience, evaluation and lessons learnt on PSS

Must know

• Knowledge on Humanitarian, development and social fields
• Knowledge on psychology, social work, protection 
• Knowledge on pedagogy and training frameworks
• Knowledge of project management cycle, methodologies and tools
• Excellent level of written and spoken English, with the ability to translate
• Excellent level of computer skills MS Office, Word and Excel
• Knowledge of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement
