Architectural Design Engineer

PAE is currently seeking a Ukrainian professional to join our team based in Kyiv, Ukraine, as an Architectural Design Engineer in support of the U.S. Department of Justice International Criminal Investigation Training Assistance Program (ICITAP). This individual will aid in developing concepts for ICITAPs current construction projects as well as potential future efforts. Students or recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

Position requires full-time location within Kyiv, Ukraine, with occasional travel outside of the capital based on project needs. This vacancy announcement is to fill one position and resumes collected may be used to fill future vacancies with similar position descriptions.

Organization Overview

ICITAP has maintained a full-time presence in Ukraine since 2005 with the mission of developing capacities of multiple Ukrainian law enforcement agencies. Following the 2014 change of government, ICITAP- Ukraine was instrumental in supporting Ukraine’s desire to deal with the corruption of the previous regime. ICITAP administered the commissions that selected and oversaw the basic training of more than 12,000 new patrol police. Over the past decade, ICITAP has conducted more than twenty separate law enforcement projects in Ukraine, including anti-corruption programs in a half-dozen ministries and cybersecurity efforts

Position Description:

· Assist in developing floor plans and conceptual renders of proposed structures.

· Assist in creating lists of materials required for the construction of civil buildings.

· Assist in all issues, matters, and tasks related to current ICITAP construction projects in Ukraine.

· Assist as needed in developing construction reports with photographs and observations for all active construction projects.

· Design, develop and price new construction projects.

Review scopes of work and designs to ensure contractor compliance.

· Identify and correct shortfalls in design or planning.

· Source and procure materials as needed

· Oversee quality control of contractors as needed.

· Facilitate communication with the end-user and ICITAP management regarding project status/concerns.

· Implement and enforce international safety standards for construction laborers.

· Travel up to 20% of the time within Ukraine.

Position Requirements

· Conversational English required

· Highly capable in ArchiCAD, AutoCAD 3D, 3DMax, or similar software.

· Flexibility in terms of work hours/days

· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office

· Good communication skills

· Attention to detail and multitasking skills

· Compliance with all US government and PAE law, regulations, and policies governing contracts and procurements

· Ability to read and interpret blueprint drawings.

· Able to learn and adapt to a new environment

· Excel familiarity for material cost calculations

· 2 Years of relevant design, construction, or engineering experience
